[What types of carbide drills are divided into?]
Release date:[2020/8/28] Is reading[392]次

Cemented carbide drills are divided into four basic types: solid carbide drills, cemented carbide indexable insert drills,

Welded carbide drill bits and replaceable carbide crown drill bits. Each drill bit has benefits suitable for specific processing conditions.

(1) Solid carbide drill

(2) Hard alloy indexable insert drill

Drills with cemented carbide indexable inserts can process a wide range of apertures, and the processing depth ranges from 2D to 5D (D is the aperture), and can be applied to lathes and other torsion processing machines.

(3) Welded carbide drill

Welded cemented carbide drills are made by smoothly welding a cemented carbide crown on a steel drill body. This kind of drill bit adopts self-centering geometric edge type with low cutting force. It can achieve excellent chip control for most workpiece materials. The processed hole has good surface finish, high dimensional accuracy and positioning accuracy. Perform subsequent finishing. The drill adopts an internal cooling system and can be used in machining centers, CNC lathes or other high-rigidity, high-speed machine tools.

(4) Cemented carbide crown bits can be changed

The replaceable carbide crown bit is a new generation of drilling tools. It is composed of a steel drill body and a replaceable solid carbide crown. Compared with a welded carbide drill, its machining accuracy is eight and a half catties, but because the crown can be changed, it can reduce the processing cost. , Improve drilling yield. This kind of drill can obtain accurate hole size increment and has self-centering function, so the hole processing precision is very high.

The drill body and the cemented carbide crown are locked to each other by a well-ground interlocking V-shaped groove adjoining mechanism, which can ensure that the drill bit assembly has the same dimensional accuracy and overall rigidity as the welded cemented carbide drill. At the same time, the locking mechanism has only a unique exact matching position, which makes it easy to install the tooth crown on the matching rod, thereby ensuring the repeated positioning accuracy when changing the tooth crown. When the tie rod is tightened by the locking screw, the crown/drill body combination is smoothly locked to each other, and its adjoining rigidity is sufficient to meet the requirements of high-speed, high-speed cross-productivity hole processing. Seco-Carboloy adopts the advanced injection molding process to manufacture cemented carbide tooth crowns with extremely high material uniformity, so that the tooth crowns have average strength and uniform thermal deformation performance. Seco currently offers three types of CrownLoc drills with specific geometrical blades: the first is a general-purpose geometric blade with conventional blade dulling radius, blade width and inverted taper angle, suitable for processing a large number of models Steel materials; the second is a geometric blade with a wider blade and chamfer, suitable for processing cast iron materials; the third geometric blade can reduce cutting heat and work hardening, suitable for processing stainless steel and super alloy materials.

When considering the processing cost of each hole, the total life of the drill should also be included. Generally speaking, a solid carbide drill bit can only be regrinded 7 to 10 times, and a welded carbide drill bit can only be regrinded 3 to 4 times. However, the carbide crown bit can be changed to process steel. When the steel drill body can change the tooth crown at least 20-30 times.
